BuildFest, April 10, 2004

As with last April, we took Kenny up to the BuildFest with us. Luckily, unlike last year’s sleet storm, the weather was clear and the drive pleasant. Joe and Kenny soldered up two Phototropic Bicore circuits for Headbots. I completed the Lone Star Turbot, using Steve Jones' Turbot boards.

Steve has been hard at work on his Baby Blue walker. It now features longer legs that the one we originally saw last September. In addition, Baby Blue has a different waist / hip setup. The walking gait is much improved, and it is a good step forward. You can see a video of the new Baby Blue here. The second robot that Steve showed us was his Abcore 2-motor walker.

Gord Mitchell has been working with the Flip-Flop circuit to make all-transistor Bicores. He had a Phototropic robot that was very interesting.

Too much to build, too little time ...
