Competition Photovore and Solaroller
Huwawa and Sprit are two more examples of Shapour Shahidi's work.
Huwawa competed in the Photovore Exhibit. Made in part from a salvaged Sony camera, Huwawa drives like a BEAM tricycle. Two Miller solar engines run the device. The first powers the drive wheel. The second powers a Bicore head, which steers. Because of its accuracy in light tracking and its size, Huwawa did very well in the competition. It took second.
Next up is Shapour Shahidi’s competition solaroller: Sprit. This is a carefully built and balanced solaroller runs on a GQ Miller. The gear motor is a Solarbotics GM10, with belt transfer back to the drive wheel. The storage cap is a 0.037 F (the exhaust pipe), timing was a socketed 0.1uF (in blue). Very nice, indeed.
